摘要

In this paper, Differential Evolution (DE) with different strategies is proposed to determine the optimal allocation of Static Var Compensator (SVC) for maximizing the Total Transfer Capability (TTC) of power transmission between source and sink areas in a power system. TTC value is calculated within real and reactive power generation limit, voltage limit, transient stability limit, line flow limit. Also, to validate the results, Genetic Algorithm (GA) is applied to solve the problem. Furthermore, simulation studies on a multi-machine network (IEEE 30-bus system) are presented to illustrate the capability of DE algorithm with different strategies to solve the problem.
