This paper is for modeling on 1500V DC electric railroadrnsystem. Electric railroad system has special characteristicsrnwith other electric system. One of the specialrncharacteristics is that the railroad system has electricrnvehicle loads which are power-varying and locationvaryingrnwith time. Because of this load characteristic, thernelectric railroad system modeling which reflect its ownrncharacteristics on EMTDC simulation could not bernachieved. However, to reflect load characteristic onrnEMTDC, this paper suggests electric railroad systemrnmodeling by using Train Performance Simulator(TPS)rnthat was developed in Korea Railroad Research Institute.rnA TPS program has various kinds of input data, such asrnoperation condition, vehicle condition, and power systemrncondition. By these data, TPS calculates mechanicalrnpower consumption and location, especially it decidernelectric power consumption on the basis of the fact thatrnconsumed electric and mechanical power are equal.rnMoreover, on this paper, movement of vehicle is reflectedrnon EMTDC simulation as variation of feeder impedance.rnAlso, an electric vehicle load is modeled as time-varyingrnconstant power load model.
