The paper examines problematic issues related to the design of oil andrngas production platforms for which ice and seismic impacts arerndeterministic, as well as design criteria, which allow to make a rationalrndecision during design.rnAnalysis of impact of seismic conditions and ice period upon thernarchitecture of the facility and its structural elements is introduced.rnDesigns of offshore ice-resistant platforms for regions with highrnseismic activity are presented.rnSpecial consideration is given to the issues of engineering of platformsrndesigned for operation in severe environmental conditions of Russianrnshelf.
