The container transportation and containerization for the materialrnmovement has been increasing rapidly in recent years. Under thisrncircumstance, the adequate container terminal with high performance isrnrequired to satisfy the needs of customers such as cargo owner and shippingrncompany. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate functional assessmentrnof efficient container terminal and to consider for higher performance ofrncontainer terminal. First, the container operating process informationrnis extracted through the database that is constructed by analysis of therndaily work report of practical container terminal. And the formulae ofrnskill factor of operator including a driving speed and some troubles ofrntransfer crane is defined, and this skill factor is calculated by comparisonrnof operation time of constructed database and defined standard operationrntime. Finally, a Petri-network model of container handling is proposedrnfor estimation of performance of container throughput.
