Results of the ground based validation of MIPAS levelrn2 products, processed with software version 4.61, arernreported. Data relative to the whole altitude rangerninvestigated by MIPAS, 60-5 km, have been validatedrnby means of a microwave radiometer, for the middlernatmospheric range, and by means of three radiosoundingrnand Raman lidar systems for what concerns the upperrntroposphere and lower stratosphere (UTLS). Over 195rncases, a mean overestimation of 7-15% has beenrnobserved in the altitude range 28-55 km. On therncontrary, both lidar and radiosonde indicate anrnunderestimation of about 0.013-0.016 g/kg in MIPASrndata in the altitude range of 10-13 km. However, forrncomparison in UTLS only few data are until nowrnavailable, and a larger amount of reprocessed MIPASrndata are needed to draw more quantitative conclusion inrnthis atmospheric region.
