“SMART COLLEGE”- Study of Social Network and IoT Convergence

The coexistence of the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies with social networking concepts has led us to the discovery of a new concept called the Social Internet of Things (SIoT), which involves numerous objects that imitate the behavioral characteristics of humans and create their individual relationships based on the rules or requirements placed by their owner with the advantage of enhancing the network scalability in information/service discovery. In this paper, the information obtained from the environment is brought by the IoT, and the social network is reponsible for paving the way for human-to-device interactions. The SIoT paradigm has been only an area for simulations and research, until now. The objective of this paper is to establish a proposed system for college environment leading to a SIoT platform. The Authors also introduce the important functionalities of the proposed system: how to enroll a fresh social object to the college platform, how the system create new relationships and handles them, and how the devices handles the creation of new groups of members with close or similar features and figure out trusted "things" that can offer services needed when they get in touch with each other.
