Topographic mapping based on polarizationrnorientation angle shifts estimation induced by terrainrnslope is a recently developed application. This paperrnpresented a method to estimate the terrain slope both inrnrange and azimuth direction using only single-passrnPOLSAR data. This method relies on the sub aperturernprocessing theory, which would increase the observationrndata sets of different squint angle and make thernconventional "one observation (polarization orientationrnangle) two unknowns (azimuth slope and range slope)"rnproblem solvable without multi-pass or add other priorrninformation. Finally, the IECAS (Institute of Electronics,rnChinese Academy of Sciences) P-band POLSAR datarnwas used to validate this method.
