A series of centrifuge model tests on suction piles embedded in sandrnhave been conducted to determine the horizontal, vertical and inclinedrnloading capacities. The centrifuge model tests include as mainrnvariables the load inclination angle and the loading point. Test resultsrnindicate that the loading capacity of a suction pile with small loadrninclination angles in sand increases, reaches its peak, and then starts torndecrease slightly as the point of load application moves downward. Forrnlarger load inclination angles, the loading capacity slightly butrncontinuously increases as the mooring point moves downward. Thernmaximum and minimum loading capacities occur when the appliedrnloading is horizontal and vertical, respectively.
