At 14: 28, on May 12, 2008, 8.0 earthquake severely hit Wenchuan of Sichuan, because of the special geological features, the rescue mission is extremely difficult. In the whole rescue operation, so many of the military, so great line-up, so large number of high-tech equipment and so rapid assembly are unprecedented in history. Specially, the high-tech equipment have emerged, such as life detectors, the field hospital, the satellite positioning system and so on, which become the weapon for earthquake rescue and play an important role. Compared with Tangshan earthquake thirty-two years ago which the relief work was basically done manually, which made the hands as weapon, it is completely a cross-age progress.
