A complete Gulfstream aircraft Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) model has beenrndeveloped to predict the interior cabin noise and support the design optimization of thernaircraft thermal/acoustic package. Extensive laboratory experimental data has beenrncollected to help characterize the material properties of aircraft systems, which are shownrnto be crucial to improving the accuracy of the SEA predictions. This paper is a naturalrnextension of the previous studies by showing the correlation of the SEA predictions withrnflight test data and the use of the model in diagnosing aircraft noise issues.rnThe present paper starts with an overview of the aircraft SEA model development processrnand then discusses Gulfstream Acoustic Test Facility material testing which is used tornrefine the model. The SEA model is further refined by correlating to extensive acousticrnflight test data conducted to measure the interior cabin noise with various design changesrnincorporated. The model is then used to help diagnose aircraft noise issues. The predictedrneffect will be shown to correlate well with the experimental data.
