HIGH ACCURACY SOLID STATE TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER WITH 100 PROPORTIONAL BAND FOR PROCESS INSTRUMENT APPLICATIONS

This paper describes some of the problems and solutions involved in the design of a solid state, l0% proportional band temperature controller. A rate feedback system is discussed which permits high gain operation without the instability usually associated with high gain proportional controllers.rnAlthough this controller was designed specifically for a process instrument air bath, its characteristics tend to make it adaptable to many temperature control systems.
