EVALUATION OF REMOTE SENSOR SYSTEMS FOR MONITORINGURANIUM MINES

The use of satellite remote sensing instrumentation to gather multispectral andrnhyperspectral data is often viewed as the panacea for monitoring activities. This paperrnprovides an overview of these technologies and data, and their applicability to thernproblem of uranium production monitoring. We discuss the available instruments, theirrnparameters and limitations, on-going work in this area, and potential observables inrnuranium mining and milling operations as they pertain to the international safeguardsrncommunity.
