Hydro-mechanical deep drawing is an important forming method with advantages of high drawing ratio and improving quality of product. In a hydro-mechanical deep drawing system, proportional pressure relief valve is the most common part of active pressure regulating. In the paper, the passive pressure regulating methods are discussed, which provides an effective way for superpressure system. The mathematic model of passive pressure regulating with proportional pressure relief valve is built and the dynamic response of the system is analyzed. The passive regulation with proportional valve represents better performance though the pressure increases gradually. Moreover, experiment shows that the diameter of electromagnetic valve also limits its application for little flowrate. A passive pressure regulating actuator is proposed for little flowrate and an accumulator is the simplest actuator. The simulation indicates that the passive pressure increases linearly, which provides a foundation for the designing of passive pressurization for hydro-mechanical deep drawing.
