Temperature gradient in the LAMOST dome is the significant factor that affects the dome seeing. So, researches on some cooling projects to improve the temperature distribution in the enclosing channels must be done.Since the temperature distribution in the dome is instantaneous and extraordinary difficult to control, a transient calculation method is used with Icepak, a thermal analysis software. In the thermal calculating, two different cooling schemes based on ventilating duct, one with normal temperature air and the other with cooling air, are analyzed emphatically. Comparing with other cooling projects, the calculating result clearly indicates that the scheme with ventilating duct is better than the scheme only adopting heatsink. What's more, ventilating duct with cooling air can form a local cooling area and get an even clearer seeing, and only this temperature distribution can meet the demands. All results are helpful to the theoretical study on seeing and the design on LAMOST dome.
