An Intelligent Approach to Semantic Query Processing

Semantic knowledge has often been employed tornenforce relational database integrity. It also offers thernopportunity to transform a query into a semanticallyrnequivalent query that is potentially more efficientlyrnprocessed than the original query. This paper describes arnknowledge-based transformation approach that utilizesrnsemantic integrity constraints and transformationrnheuristics to reduce query processing costs.rnImplementation in the form of an intelligent system,rnQUOTA, is also presented.
