Dimethyl Ether(DME) is a clean and economical alternative fuelrnwhich can be produced from various resources as natural gas, coal orrnbiomass through synthetic gas. The properties of DME are similar tornthose of LPG and it can be used for various fields; power generationrnfuel, transportation fuel, home fuel, etc.rnAn innovative process of DME direct synthesis from synthetic gas hasrnbeen developed by JFE Corporation (formerly N.K.K.). 100 tons/dayrnDME direct synthesis demonstration plant project is in progress sincern2002 with the Japanese government support.rnA feasibility study of DME Fuel System, which includes production ofrnDME from natural gas and its supply to Japan, indicates that DME isrncompetitive to conventional fuels.
