摘要

Unstable precursors, such as ground subsidence and thrust, occurred onrnthe lower slope of the Chiu-fen-erh-shan landslide in November, 2002.rnThis study presents the results of applying Discontinuous DeformationrnAnalysis (DDA), which is a dynamic discrete numerical analysisrnmethod, to evaluate the post-failure behavior of the unstable lowerrnslope involving different geometries. The simulation results show thatrnthe depression near the toe of the slope provides a space to trap thernsliding rocks when the failure is occurred at the unstable lower slope.rnThe success of this study will demonstrate DDA as a very useful tool tornslope engineering and disaster prevention.
