In this paper, a new controller is designed for OFWTs on the basis ofrnthe LPV control with the grid technique. It may cover both Region 2rnand Region 3 instead of switching between the generator-torquerncontroller and the blade-pitch controller. In addition, it may ensure thernperformance and stability at any point in the control region. Also, thernadditional motions induced by wind and waves are considered. Finally,rnthe new controller is tested by a simulator in MATLAB/Simulink, andrnthe model combining “NREL offshore 5-MW baseline wind turbine”rnwith “OC3-Hywind platform” is chosen as an example for simulation.
