The objective of this paper is to present the status ofrnongoing and upcoming microprocessor developmentrnactivities supported by ESA. The following topics willrnbe addressed:rn1. Microcontroller Developmentsrn2. LEON2-FT microprocessors [AT697E], [AT697F] and [AT7913E]rn3. LEON3-FT based Spacecraft Controller On-a Chip [SCOC3]rn4. LEON4-FT based Next Generation Microprocessor [NGMP]rnThis paper does not address the needs of Payload DatarnProcessors in the high performance range, which will bernthe objective of a dedicated contribution to thisrnconference. This paper also does not take into accountrnmicroprocessors which might be available fromrnothersources, without ESA involvement. Acknowledgements are hereby pronounced to myrncolleagues at ESA, to Atmel, EADS Astrium and Aeroflex Gaisler who have provided inputs andrndocumentation relevant for this paper.
