OPERATIONAL QUALITY CONTROL FOR CRYOSAT-2 DATA PERFORMED BY IDEAS

As the main instrument of the CryoSat-2 mission,rnSIRAL will measure changes in the thickness ofrncontinental ice sheets and marine ice cover withrnunprecedented accuracy using three modes of operation.rnThe performance and quality of the instrument and therndata products are assessed by the routine operationalrnactivities of the IDEAS (Instrument Data qualityrnEvaluation and Analysis Service) team. The mainrnobjective is to assure, on an operational basis, that thernquality of the data products delivered to users meetsrntheir requirements. All information concerning productrnquality and data processing is then conveyed to thernscientific and user community in order to allow them tornuse the CryoSat-2 data with confidence.rnThis paper presents the different quality control checksrnwhich are performed by IDEAS for SIRAL in additionrnto details on how the quality reports may be accessed byrnusers.
