Oregon garden utilizes composite turf reinformcement matting in creating a unique waste water treatment facility

An innovative wastewater treatment probject is under construction in the City of Slverton, Oregon. The state of the art facility is an environmentally sound solution to the problem of wastewater dischare into nearby Silver Creek during low flows. The proejt is a partnership between the Oregon Association of Nurserymen and the City of silverton to protect Silver Creek and recycle reclaimed water. Wastewater is filtered through a series of wetland cells to provide irrigation for the world class 240-acre garden and botanical complex showcasing plants of the Northwest.
