In this study, a Light Shelf System (LSS)rnequipped with automatic control has beenrncompared to a Traditional Lighting Systemrn(TLS) with manual control in the scope of anrnexperiment carried out in the Electrical andrnElectronics Engineering Faculty of IstanbulrnTechnical University. For this study, 76rnsubjects answered questions after havingrncompleted visual tasks in the two roomsrnwhere the lighting systems were installed.rnThe results show that the LSS has severalrnadvantages over the TLS in the fields ofrnvisual task performances, glare, unwantedrnreflections and lighting satisfaction, and alsornthat it is to the use and liking of users as arnhybrid lighting system with automaticrncontrol.
