This paper is about the application of a local (radiant)rnbench heating system in a church. This local heatingrnsystem could be a nice alternative to heating the largernair volume of the building, because it radiates thernheat to the people directly without influencing thernoverall indoor climate of the church. This would savernenergy costs and reduce the risk of damaging thernmonumental building and its interior, but it wouldrnstill provide human thermal comfort. In this paper,rnthe modeling in CFD and the verification of this CFDrnmodel, as well as the resulting local indoor climate isrnpresented.
