The amateur radio community has taken advantage of the low costrnof personal computers and pioneered advancements in low costrndigital communications and image processing technology. Inrnparticular, the development of the weather facsimile systems andrnthe OSCAR satellites which provide real-time global imaging datarnand worldwide store and forward communications. How can thernnational K-12 classrooms and universities utilize this technologyrnnow that the Apple II and Commodore computers are being replacedrnby MacIntosh and IBM PC compatible computers?
