摘要

Novel frequency-domain uniform asymptotic solutions for the scattered fields by a dielectric cylinder with the radius of curvature sufficiently larger than the wavelength are presented which are applicable in the transition region near the geometrical boundaries. Validity and utility of the uniform solutions are confirmed by comparing with the exact solution calculated from the eigenfunction expansion. Also shown are the physical phenomena for scattering by the dielectric cylinder.
