摘要

This poster presents findings from a qualitative researchrnstudy involving 26 public library users. Study participants’rndecisions and actions related to the preservation of theirrndigital information were examined. Significant positive andrnnegatives experiences using digital information were foundrnto influence participants’ behaviors. Motivated byrnfrustration and anger over digital devices malfunctioning, rnparticipants intentionally store personal digital content inrnmultiple locations as a means of digital preservation.rnPositive experiences with digital information motivatedrnparticipants to unintentionally store and preserve personalrncontent on the web as a result of social interactions throughrnemail and social networking sites. The findings providernsupport for the study of positive affective issues inrninformation behavior research and in particular itsrnrelationship to information valued for the long term andrnsocial networks and web-based storage practices.
