From Text to RDF Triple Store: An Application for Biodiversity Literature

摘要

In this system demonstration two software applications willrnbe shown. One application turns plain text biodiversityrnliterature (using Flora of North America as an example)rninto semantically annotated documents in XML. Thernsecond application turns the XML annotations to a RDFrntriple store and provides query capabilities to allow a userrnto search a volume of Flora of North America by biologicalrncharacters and not simple keywords. For example, a userrncan find taxa that are a member of Asteraceae family withrnconservation concerns, grow along ditches in Arizona, andrnwith pink flowers and toothed leaves.
