We propose the geometrical alignment model of the APC-MPOrn(Angled Physical Contact-Multi-fiber Push On) connector forrnaccurate connection loss estimation from the plugs dimensions.rnConnection losses are estimated from offsets and angle errorsrncalculated from the guide structure parameters, deformation ofrnguide pins and holes caused by mating force. We propose a lowlossrnAPC-MPO connector design with Yoffset in MTrn(Mechanically Transferable) ferrule for compensating y-directionrneccentricities. We demonstrated the low-loss design betweenrnplugs with different materials and different guide hole diameters,rnand confirmed the effectiveness of the design by experiments andrnthe Monte Carlo simulation. The two 12-Fiber single mode APCMPOrnplugs with different materials and guide hole diameterrndifference of 0.45 [μm] had low connection losses of less thanrn0.25 [dB] for 97% value.
