Research on Chinese Commercial Banks Efficiency:Using Data Envelopment Analysis

摘要

The concept of banking efficiency has been considered widely in the literature, utilizing both nonparametric and parametric techniques. After the review of some related literatures on foreign or native banking, this paper use the data envelopment analysis approach in the researches. We have examined 14 commercial banks’ efficiency in China from the year 1985 to the year 2005 and give some suggestions about without the support from the government, how to improve the efficiency of the Chinese commercial banks.
