B2B ELECTRONIC INVOICE PRESENTMENT AND PAYMENT MECHANISMS USING SYSTEMIC METHODOLOGIES

As businesses increasingly evaluate and adopt business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce strategies and applications, one particular area shows significant promise for enhanced productivity and increased return on investment. B2B Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment (EIPP) enables businesses to send invoices and receive payment electronically and allows their customers to process invoices online, thereby avoiding the more costly and time-consuming method of traditional paper invoicing and payment. rnThe focus of this paper will be on the development and analysis of a B2B Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment Mechanism using the Systemic Methodologies: Problem Structure Methodology (PSM), Meta-Systems for Decision Making and Total System Intervention (TSI). Systemic Analysis considers the problem situations as systems, makes a thorough analysis on these situations and defines them in a very accurate way. The methodologies of this analysis concentrate on the human factor that is evolving in those systems and they are a very valuable tool helping us to understand and define the system functions. The results taken from the analysis give the chance for improvement, better control and error tracking in the system’s structure. Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment (EIPP) is a promising tool in the business-to-business (B2B) environment that has not yet achieved significant adoption rates.
