Peciko is a giant multilayer gas field located in thernMahakam delta of East Kalimantan. The field isrndivided in three main intervals which are Shallow,rnUpper, and Main Zone. Main Zone reservoirs,rnbetween 2,500 and 4,000 mSS, are consolidatedrnsandstone and not prone for sand production. On therncontrary, Upper and Shallow zones arernunconsolidated sandstone for which downhole sandrncontrol is required.rnAt the early development phases, Main Zonernreservoirs were the prime objectives meanwhilernShallow reservoirs encountered were considered asrnhazard for drilling. Development of thernunconsolidated Shallow reservoirs using GravelrnPack and Open Hole Stand Alone Screensrncompletion started in 2009; therefore all wells drilledrnbefore are not completed with proper sand control,rnbut with standard monobore or tubinglessrncompletion. Strong depletion of Main Zonernreservoirs is currently observed and Shallowrnreservoirs now become potential targets to fight therndecline in the low producing wells. After screeningrnof different techniques, Rig-less Sand Consolidationrn(SCON) has been identified as the most suitable andrncost effective solution in the context of the offshorernPeciko field.rnThis paper presents a successful pilot application ofrnthe SCON technique. Candidate selection workflowrnis driven mainly by reserves evaluation from seismicrnand well correlation, and a complete well integrityrnreview. Resin was injected on a shut-in well with nornmore potential in Main Zone. Appropriate logisticrnand safety preparations were performed prior to thernCoiled Tubing operation. The pilot test yielded a gasrnproduction up to 3 MMscfd without any sand, andrnmore than 1 Bcf of incremental reserves. This trialrnopens the opportunity to unlock additional resourcesrnfrom Shallow reservoirs and to add value to lowrnpotential wells.
