ENERGY DISPERSIVE X-RAY FLUORESCENCE AS AN ON-STREAM PROCESS ANALYZER

Metal catalyst streams with finite lifetimes require continuous analysis of metal concentrations to monitor depletion of the active species. This report will describe a new energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer configured for the on-stream determination of metals in a catalyst solution. Using the noninvasive EDXRF technique, a method was developed to provide information concerning catalyst status.
