A commercially available TG/DTA was modified by removal of a portion of the furnacernwall above the sample and reference holders and replacement of this portion of the furnace wallrnwith a double layer quartz window. The quartz window provided ready access for Ramanrnspectroscopy enabling simultaneous collection of TG/DTA/Raman data during a thermalrnanalytical experiment.rnThis poster provides details of the use of this simultaneous TG/DTA/Raman system tornmonitor the dehydration and accompanying recrystallization of an active pharmaceuticalrningredient (API). The TGA data provided quantitation of the hydrate loss and temperaturernprofiles helpful in identification of hydrate type, the DTA data provided further confirmation ofrnhydrate type. The Raman data identified recrystallization events not observed in the TG/DTArncurves and aided in the interpretation of events in the TG/DTA data.
