GOAL-ORIENTED ANALYZING AND MODELING STRATEGY FOR BUSINESS PROCESS REENGINEERING

The ever-increasing and changing customer demands and market needs has lead to growingrndemands for modeling and analysis tools to help capture and analyze the strategic relationships amongrnbusiness work units and external players, such as customers, suppliers, and business partners. In thisrnpaper, we present a goal-oriented analysis and modeling strategy that addresses and remedies therndeficiencies of the traditional modeling methods. It reflects the enterprise business process activities’rnmotives, objectives, and reasons through the goal logistic models and help to find the innovative waysrnfor reengineering. This method defines business objectives as goal functions that can be treated byrncomputer software in the usual manner. By adjusting the goal functions and parameters, or by usingrnartificial intelligence methods like ANN method, the model can dynamically adapt to the environmentalrnchanges. The general procedure for BPR using goal-oriented method is discussed. This method canrngreatly improve the effectiveness of the information systems’ realization and maintenance.
