The paper presents an approach to making the complete energy management diagrams for a system composed of renewable energy generators, utility-grid connections and a number of various energy storages. The method is very general and can be applicable to almost arbitrary system configuration that can be defined by components and rules. The system components are categorized according to their roles (source/sink/both), fitting in the system (rigid/adaptive) and their persistence (permanent/temporary). The final management diagram is extracted from the initial full graph by filtering the nodes and transitions according to the defined principle of operation. The generated diagram may be used for implementation of reliable energy management controller or registering the energy flows in a system.
