For multimedia data message transmission with QoSrnrequirement, reservation of capacity in advance is required.rnThe labeling method is one of the most well-known heuristicrnmethods for achieving the maximum capacity from arnsource node to a destination one provided in wired networksrnwith limited link capacity. Here, capacity increasingrnroutes are detected one-by-one and the method avoidsrnthe local-maximum problem by systematic reduction of alreadyrnreserved link capacity. Different from in wired networks,rncapacity in each link is not independent of the othersrnin wireless networks due to exposed-nodes and hiddennodesrncaused by intrinsical broadcast property in wirelessrncommunications. This paper proposes an extended labelingrnmethod for wireless multihop networks. Here, capacityrnlimitation is assigned not to wireless links but to wirelessrnnodes though capacity is reserved in wireless links and extendedrnconditions for capacity increasing routes in wirelessrnmultihop networks are induced. Same as the original labelingrnmethod, the extended method is applied in distributedrnmanner, i.e., available and reserved capacity is managed inrneach wireless node without centralized server node. Briefrnsimulation experiments show that without explicit additionalrntime overhead, the method achieves higher capacityrnthan the conventional one-route transmission method andrnthe naive multiple-route transmission method.
