Automatic control of tailings ash content from coal flotation

The pape presents the results of an investigation on the accuracy of a control system for the flotation tailings ash content and the flotation reagents consumption using different contorl structures. The following algorithms have been used: prediction controller, Phillipson's controller, P, PI, PID controller. An analysis of these systems was made using simulation methods based on a mathematical dynamic model of a flotation machine. Rules of a control algorithm parameter design are discussed. The optimum structuer and control algorithms with regard to the control evaluation criterion have been determined.
