Logistics Alliance: the European and American Experience and Its Inspiration to China

With the requirements of the logistics demanders changed from ensuring the delivery of goods to high efficiency and high value-added logistics services, single third-party logistics company has been unable to meet the increasing high standard and diverse logistics needs.Under such circumstance, third-party logistics companies as well as manufacturers are eagerly seeking cooperation for win-win strategy. Logistics alliance, which is formed in the United States and Europe, now owns a certain size and mature mode of operation after decades of development, and is considered as the most promising interorganization cooperation trend in the future. However, the logistics alliances in China, with a short history, have been at a slow speed of developing and lack of good operation models. This essay will examine the experience of the European and American logistics alliance and offer suggestions on the development of logistics alliances in China. (Abstract)
