摘要

1-hop broadcast is one of the most useful communication primitives in which a source node sends the broadcast message to all its neighbor nodes. In wireless networks, however, it is not easy to complete 1-hop broadcast due to the problem known as the Hidden Terminal. This paper presents a new MAC protocol that guarantees 1-hop broadcasting by incorporating a control packet in addition to a data packet. The control packets are useful not only for guaranteeing 1-hop broadcast but also for preventing collisions to enhance the network throughput. Simulation results show that this proposed algorithm outperforms both the naive algorithm and algorithms implementing only CSMA/CA.
