摘要

The sol of nano-TiO<,2> was prepared by using ethylene glycol (EG) as solvent, and then was introduced into the direct esterification reaction between pure terephthalic acid (PTA) and EG. The effect of sol on the esterification and its product property has been investigated. The results show that the butylalcohol from the hydrolysis of TBOT is almost distilled out with H<,2>O and there has no effect on the chemical structure of BHET caused by the introducing of sol. A kind of novel titanium compound is manufactured during the esterification under the existence of sol, which shows slice-like morphology from SEM micrographs and special XRD pattern with new diffraction peaks between 2-theta = 6.0 ° and 10.0 °.
