摘要

Logistics is widely regarded as one of the most critical determinants of business success in China. This paper gives a study on the logistics strategy and practice of foreign manufacturers in China. After an analysis of the logistics environment in present China, a review and analysis of foreign manufacturers' logistics related strategies, manufacturing strategy and market strategy is conducted. It also gives a short comparision to China-owned enterprises. It concludes that the logistics infrastructure is no longer the bottleneck of doing business in China; problems raised from logistics service and suppliers are both confronted by foreign and domestic manufacturers, and these problems can be solved eventually. Distribution decision becomes the most important content of logistics strategy for foreign manufacturers, and competition for distribution channels will be the critical factor to win the market in China for both foreign and domestic firms.
