Three-dimensional computational multiphase fluid dynamicsrnCMFD simulations are performed in order to estimaternpressure gradients in slug flow gas non-Newtonian systemsrnby gas injection. The estimated pressure reductions arerncompared with experimental data. Simulations were performedrnin an L-shaped pipe in order to maintain a stablernsingle slug at all times, as this set up allows for the estimationrnof the pressure gradient along the slug. Calculationsrnshowed an excellent agreement between the simulation andrnexperimental data. Shear thinning effects are also correctlyrnmodelled in this work.
