National missile defense battle management,command,control,and communications software integration laboratory

The National Missile Defense (NMD)Battle Management,Command,Control,and Communications (BMC3) hardware and software are being developed for the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization(BMDO) using an evolutionary approach.The BMC3 system is being released in seven capability increments (CIs),which will be subjected to increasingly stringent tests.The third increment will soon be released,and development is about to begin on the fourth CI.Software and hardware for the NMD command centers (BMC2 nodes) are being developed in Colorado Springs,CO(command and control displays and decision aids) and Huntsville,AL(track,discrimination,kill assessment,sensor/weapon,planning,and tasking).Development of a system to allow MC2 to communicate with an in-flight interceptor and design of the NMD communications network are also being performed in Huntsville.
