摘要

In this paper, the computational fluid dynamics' flow models of axial flow pumping machine at design and off design conditions are estimated from fundamental and essential interrelation between the efficiency characteristics and the internal flow conditions at design and off design conditions. And the application of aerofoil theory to the internal flow condition in axial flow pumping machines is studied. The conclusion of this work is that in the flow passage of axial flow pumping machine, radial component is dominant as well as axial and peripheral components. The aerofoil theory, which ignores radial component, is not only inapplicable, but also its results oppose that which concluded from practical experience at design and off design conditions.
