摘要

Due to complex nature of a finish turning process, it is very difficult to set machining parameters for desired surface finish. Past research attempted to build statistical prediction models based on experimental data. However, these models often failed to provide accurate predictions because of the diversity of machining situations encountered in manufacturing. This research focused on a fuzzy logic approach to adapt to actual machining conditions to obtain a required surfaced finish by adjusting a single machining parameter, feed rate, in response to the feedback surface finish data.
