A method is proposed for frequency domain design of quadrand plane twodimensional recursive digital filters with guaranteed stability.This method employs a stable structure that is obtained by applying bilinear transformation z=(a+bs)/(c+ds)on a suitable two-variable analog reference transfer function.The mapping parameters are so chosen that non-essential singularities of the second kind will not occur.The parameters effects on system stability margin and frequency characteristics are discussed in detail,and some useful solutions are drawn.
