摘要

Based on the theory of energy dissipation,an experimental study is applied on the simply supported I-beam.According to the relationship between the modal strain energy dissipation ratio and the change of modal strain energy in each element before and after damage,the damage index of each element is deduced.In practial application,the problem of mismatching between the freedom degrees of the measurement model and those of the finite element model can be solved by the mean of modal expansion algorithm.The results of experimental research indicate that this damage identification method can successfully detect the damage position and describe the damage degree to some extent.
