Runout table cooling equipment and new laminar cooling automatic control system structure of a hot strip mill were introduced. Coiling 1 emperature Control (CTC)mathematic models such as air cooling model, laminar cooling model, feed back control model and self-learning model were detailed descnbed. As strip speed in the cooling area always changes to increase or decrease, speed feed forward compensation must be considered in order to control the coiling temperature more prelerable. Segment tracking and recalculation by speed compensation were introduced in this paper. Since online application of the new CTC system, the laminar cooling system has been running stably and reliably with a high precision, and mechanical properties of hot rolled strips are improved significantly , which lays a foundation for useis to develop new products.
