Study with four dwarfing interstocks showed that the 'Red Fuji' apple tree with interstock B.9 gave the highest single fruit weight but the lowest level of sugar. While single fruit weight of 'Red Fuji' apple on interstocks SH.5 and SH.38 obviously decreased, with sugar contents being higher than that of M.26. Study also revealed that interstocks influenced the SAI activity in fruit and the time for its pinnacle appeared, which further influenced fruit sucrose content.
