A STUDY ON PROSODY RULES FOR CHINESE SPEECH SYNTHESIS

摘要

The prosody rules for Chinese speech synthesis are investigated in this paper. Based on the linguistic knowlege and statistical results made on a standard Chinese database, a set of prosody rules is summed up. With the prosody modification by the proposed rules the synthesized speech sounds high inteligible and natural. A real-time Chinese text-to-speech system is presented to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed rules.
